We are seeking an outstanding Image Quality Researcher to join our image processing group. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to developing subjective image quality assessment and modelling expertise for both video and still imaging technologies at CiSRA.
The role is responsible for designing and executing image quality evaluation experiments and developing innovative subjective measurement techniques. To do this you will need to have a strong technical background in imaging systems research and development that will enable you to work with image and video researchers to optimise imaging system design to maximize subjective image quality.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in:
· Expertise in image quality modelling and evaluation techniques for still and motion images including:
o Subjective image quality measurement and analysis
o Imaging system modelling and analysis
o Colour modelling and computation
o Development of human visual system based models of image quality
o Computational Image processing and analysis
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of:
· Understanding of the human visual system and visual perception
· Experimental design and statistical analysis skills
· Proficiency in Matlab, Java, Mathematica, Python or C/C++
Experience in:
· Writing scientific or technical papers or patent descriptions
· Application of psychophysical evaluation techniques to real-world problems
